Providing Counseling, Therapy, & Psychological Services

Meridian Behavioral Health is an outpatient mental health clinic in McHenry, Illinois. It was founded in April 2010 and has grown to include 4 full time therapists, one consulting diagnostic psychologist and 2 administrative staff. Meridian Behavioral Health provides highly specialized therapy services for children, teens and adults. We have several therapists that provide marriage counseling, and two psychologists that provide psychological testing services.

 

 

Our Agency's Goals

Meridian Behavioral Health was founded to be a community of mental health professionals that fosters the kind of work environment that attracts quality clinicians. We have begun building a "family" of practitioners, and believe in what we do very strongly. The staff here is committed to supporting one another professionally and personally, because we believe that allows us to focus more on the work of helping those that come to us for services. Meridian Behavioral Health is also working to develop our facility to accommodate other agencies from other parts of the state and country to come to McHenry County and provide continuing education to the mental health professionals in the area (as a non-profit seeking project). We believe that if we are to thrive in this community, we are obligated to provide a service to the community. Given the lack of regular training opportunities specific to mental health in our area, this is one way we have chosen to try and contribute to the mental health community here.

We seek to provide a warm, caring environment in which people seeking help feel valued, cared for and understood. We strongly favor “evidence-based” therapy, meaning services that have been demonstrated to be effective by the latest scientific research. Whenever possible, we collaborate with other healthcare professionals to integrate our therapy services into the overall care of the whole person. Meridian Behavioral Health is a community of mental health professionals that acts very much like a family, because we know that good care of our therapists fosters good focus on the care of their patients. Our Administrative staff strives to treat each person seeking help with compassion, warmth and a spirit of service, because we believe those things are important to each individual we work with.
